Eliza Proszczuk. Pasiak (A Striped Rug)

„Pasiak”(A striped rug) is a work relating to so-called weaving cloths – the characteristic striped rugs, which have, until recently, been made of different-colored fabric scraps in villages. The work referring to the regional tradition is close to the aesthetic patterns of Podlasie region. The author of “Pasiak” Eliza Proszczuk transforms this pattern into 15×4 m banner using worn out advertising prints.

“Pasiak” will be on view on the building of the Arsenal Gallery power station in Bialystok from the middle of May 2014.
