ZUZA GOLIŃSKA / MAGDALENA ŁAZARCZYK. Invisible Wall

Zuza Golińska (b. 1990, Gdańsk) graduated from the Painting Space Studio of Leon Tarasewicz and Paweł Susid at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 2015 she completed her Master’s degree in the Department of Media Art at the Studio of Spatial Activities run by Mirosław Bałka. Her installation entitled ‘Run-up’ was presented in the House of Polish Word (Dom Słowa Polskiego) in Warsaw, Heiligenkreuzerhof in Vienna and National Gallery in Prague. In 2014 Zuza was a finalist of the Hestia Artistic Journey Award and was awarded first prize in the Gdansk Art Biennale. Selected group exhibitions include: Polish and Swedish project ‘S-NOW’ in Umeå during the inauguration of the European Capital of Culture and ‘No Yawning’ – a four-week project at the New Theatre in Warsaw. Her recent solo exhibitions include: ‘Common Ground’ at the Gdansk City Gallery and ‘East东’ at the Artists Colony in Gdansk (2016). She was awarded the Achievements Scholarship by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (2014). In 2015 she was nominated for the StartPointPrize, a European prize for emerging artists. In 2016 she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. In 2017 Zuza will participate in her first residency as part of Artists’ Development Programme / European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. Lives and works in Warsaw.

Magdalena Łazarczyk (b. 1985 in Bialystok) In 2013 she received her Bachelor’s degree in the Faculty of Multimedia Communication at the University of Fine Arts in Poznan. In 2015 she completed her Master’s degree in the Department of Media Art at the Studio of Spatial Activities run by Mirosław Bałka. In her artistic activity she uses different media, such as video, photography, installation, performance. Magdalena with Łukasz Sosiński run ROD – Realny Obszar Działań (Real Action Area) – artist-run space at the area of Family Allotment Gardens in Warsaw. Finalist of the Hestia Artistic Journey Award (2014) , the Young Art Biennial ‘Fish Eye’7 (2013). In 2015 she was awarded for outstanding achievements in arts by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Her diploma was awarded at ‘Coming Out 2015’ as the best project in the field of new media and she was awarded the main prize in (Non)presence competition organized by Labirynt Gallery in Lublin (2017). Selected group exhibitions include: ‘Hosted Simply’, Vienna (2016); ‘The Sense of the Body’, FISAD 2015 (1. Festival Internazionale delle Scuole d’Arte e Design), Turin; ‘Goose flesh, House of Polish Word, Warsaw (2015); ‘TEST/EXPOSURE’, WRO Media Art Biennale, Wrocław (2015); ‘Myths. Students/Artists/Teachers’, Fondazione Pastificio Cerere, Rome (2014); ‘Lesson’, Zachęta Project Room, Warsaw (2014); ‘Accommodation’, Museum of Contemporary Art, Minsk (2014); ‘No Yawing #1, #2, #3, #4’, New Theatre, Warsaw (2014). Lives and works in Warsaw.
