The exhibition features the work of Ukrainian artist Volodymyr Kuznetsov, who has been documenting volunteers’ work in the Kyiv region since 2022. Kuznetsov focuses mainly on the activities of volunteers who prepare food for soldiers on the front line. The investigation of this “kitchen” also includes the organization of volunteer work, networks of their initiatives, and everyday activities such as the endless weaving of camouflage nets. He documents facts intertwined with the conversations and personal stories of people who are constantly involved in providing help. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, volunteers have been working tirelessly, without pay and without any days off.

Volodymyr Kuznetsov attended the Department of Art at the Lviv Art Academy from 1999 to 2005. He is a co-founder of the Straight Line group, the curatorial collective Hudrada (the Artistic Council), the CCCK – Center for Communication and Context, and the artist group R.E.P. (Revolutsijnyj Experymentalnyj Prostir / Revolutionary Experimental Space). Kuznetsov focuses on the aesthetics of everyday practices as well as on the presence of the archaic in the contemporary world. He considers memory a kind of experience and generates new concepts through personal and collective knowledge.
