The works of Marta Mariańska are constructed on the basis of seemingly distant goals. They do not coquet with the effect of raw video, edited in a kind of documentary material, which involves the spirit of pagan magic, programmed witchcraft. They emotionally engage us, although there is almost nothing happening. The image, which is often slowed down in post-production, creates the mood of ‘breathable photography’.

The scenes of improvised, everyday events are filtered by questions about the invisible factors that contributed to their occurrence. Observation is built between calculation and intuition.
