It isn’t important, it’s only art… / Nimic important, e doar artă…

After the year 2000, the artistic life in Poland was characterized by both increasing vitality and a weak but increasing interest coming from the society. Although highly positioned under the aspect of quality and being a significant presence of Polish reality, art suffers for the absence of a dialogue with intellectuals. Such a situation took the form of a great amount of works with a tautological character, a profound reflection over the art and art criticism, the artist’s role and position, the mission assumed by the institutions of culture or the dangers related to the art market. […] The presented works made us realizing how much we estranged from the romantic paradigm of creator and creation, dearly loved by the Polish public.
