Slow Art Day – Polish nationwide action / a guided tour of the exhibition Babylon Rising
26.04.2014 – 26.04.2014
Arsenał Gallery power station, ul. Elektryczna 13, Białystok

Slow Art Day is the Polish nationwide action aiming at convincing the visitors that by visiting a museum or gallery it is worth thinking about the quality not quantity of a tour. Consequently, it is better to see fewer objects and consider them.
Statistics show that the museum visitors spend eight seconds in front of each artwork. It happens when we go to the museum and we feel compelled to look at all the works included in the exhibiotn. The effect is that we go through dozens of museum rooms mindlessly and compulsively, subsequently we are tired and angry. What’s worse, we do not completely remember and understand what we have just watched. Slow Art – free movement is the remedy for this type of passive and tiring tour of the exhibition.
Join artist Daniel Malone for a tour of an exhibition “Babylon Rising” on 26 April 2014, 12.00 – 13.00 at Galeria Arsenał power station
ADMISSION IS FREE
We will try to convince you that art can be seen consciously, deliberately and without any complexes. We will motivate the visitors to ask questions, consider and take courage to seek answers. Each artwork has a story to tell. Just listen to it.
After a tour of the exhibition the participants will be invited to an informal meeting (at about 13:00), where they can freely talk about their experiences while drinking coffee and tasting delicious sweets. A sweet surprise at the meeting will be served by Walentyn Pankiewicz, a finalist of the Polish Baking Tournament, a culinary blogger www.twardyszparag.pl
