Bartosz Dziadosz aka Pleq, a graduate of Philosophy at the University of Silesia in Katowice. In 2005 he founded a solo project Pleq, which combines elements of drone, down tempo, glitch and modern classical. He creates his work by fusing together independently synthesized sounds, often incorporates violin, the unexpectedly melancholic sound of a piano, sometimes female vocals. Somewhere, something falls, something enters, rings … there’s a hissing and pop, like a short circuit on high voltage lines.
Carried by strong focus, Pleq’s style is remarkably consistent, and may be described as: Glitch & Melancholy.
Dtekk DJ set
Dtekk is a real one-man institution of the Polish electronic music scene: a DJ, a devoted promoter and a cultural activist. The man behind Technosoul label, Up To Date Festival, Ambient Park, secret location events in Białystok and a resident of legendary, long-running Metro club.
His vinyl-only sets represent a wide cross-section of music: from Chicago via Detroit to Berlin and London and beyond. He is also a fan of electro, disco and italo. One of the few ambient vinyl DJs in Poland. Dtekk co-creates the collective Technosoul since its inception and is one of the fathers of its success: numerous events with key artists from around the world and the recent expansion of the collective activities as a record label.
The most important achievement for dtekk seems to be Up To Date Festival (www.uptodate.pl) – which he is the founder of, serving as the strategist, promoter and music director. As if that was not enough Dtekk stands for the multi-annual events, such as Ambient Park, Secret Location, Ambient Salon and Kitsch’n’Electricity which are key elements of the scene.
