Eva Alvor & Viktoria Teletyen – the residents of the Strong Together/Сильні разом program

The residents of the Strong Together/Сильні разом program for May-June 2024 are Ukrainian artists Viktoria Teletien and Eva Alvor.

Eva Alvor, a pseudonym for an artist based in Zaporozhye, explores natural motifs, ancient symbols, and raw anatomical expressions to craft contemporary narratives that provoke introspection and the search for deeper meaning. Alvor works primarily with fabrics, embroidery, and costume design, particularly for theater. She has proposed a workshop focused on creating soft toys from recycled clothes, buttons, and other materials. For her, working with fabrics and embroidery is a therapeutic practice that helps manage anxiety.

Viktoria Teletien, originally from Donetsk, studied in Kharkiv, and relocated to Lviv in March 2022. Her work—spanning paintings, graphics, and objects—centers on rediscovering the significance of things that have lost their original functions, as well as exploring themes of identity, safety, and ecology. During her residency, she intends to engage with the local context to develop a project connected to Białystok. In her workshops, she will share her interdisciplinary approach by collaborating with participants on a large-format painting.
