Dive into an extraordinary world without a sound! Workshops aCCOMPANYING A. Zaradny EXHIBITION USING A SEPPO EDUCATIONAL GAME PLATFORM

The Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, the Inter-Faculty Institute of Cultural Studies and Art of the University of Bialystok and the Arsenał Gallery are the first institutions in Poland which were invited to participate in a program enabling free testing of the educational games platform SEPPO.

SEPPO is a Finnish educational games platform, used in education (also in the educational activity of cultural and art institutions) around the world. The platform provides tools used for non-standard educational activities: workshops and field games applying new technologies.

The workshops take place within the ANNA ZARADNY. Soundless exhibition  space at the Arsenał Gallery in Białystok. They were created in cooperation between the Psychology and Pedagogy Department, Inter-Faculty Institute of Cultural Studies and Art of the University of Bialystok and The Arsenal Gallery, Białystok.

ANNA ZARADNY. Soundless exhibition is woven around the possibility of weakening the purely aural character of music, focusing especially on the matters of notation, remediation and psychosocial conditioning of silence. The sound itself as an acoustic phenomenon is merely a pretext to cognitive models creation. Zaradny aims to define audio arts an area of broadened reflection, which is never trapped in strict conventions. The artist skillfully cuts the ever functioning meanings bonding, which allows her to situate her works in completely new contexts, as well as fluently heaping the gists.

In the workshops take part two teams, up to a maximum of 7 people in each of them.
Participants have to perform three tasks within the ANNA ZARADNY. Soundless exhibition space. After starting the game, a map of the exhibition will appear on the players’ mobile device. For some of the objects there are descriptions of artworks and tasks that need to be done at a specified time period. Most of them have a multimedial character. Please bear in mind that, because of the character of the exhibition, no sounds can be made during preparation of particular tasks!
