BOUILLON GROUP. 100 minutes

01.09.2018 – 01.09.2018
Arsenal Gallery power station, Elektryczna 13, Białystok

The Georgian art collective Bouillon Group will present a sound installation entitled 100 minutes, thematically linked to the 100th anniversary of Poland and Georgia regaining their independence. The Georgian national anthems and patriotic songs will be delivered in a modernized form, in the form of electronic club music. The planned duration of the event – 100 minutes – also relates to this important anniversary in both countries.

As the artists state: ‘100 years have passed since declaration of the first democratic Republic [Democratic Republic of Georgia, the first modern establishment of a Republic of Georgia, existed from May 1918 to February 1921 – ed.]. We are currently in the process of restoration of memory lost during the Soviet system. Group Bouillon will try to fill the black holes and restore lost memory through music and fun.’

Bouillon Group is an artist collective based in Tbilisi, Georgia. The artists: Natalia Vatsadze, Teimuraz Kartlelishvili, Vladimer Lado Khartishvili, Konstantine Kitiashvili, Ekaterina Ketsbaia, and Zurab Kikvadze create multimedia participatory artworks ranging from public art installations to performative actions. The artist collective is dedicated to designing and producing art works collaboratively based on interplay of spaces, imagery, sexuality and the history.
