Join us for an Artist Talk with our Artists in Residence: Anna Jermolaewa and Scott Clifford Evans.27.08 (Tuesday), 14.00Galeria Arsenal, ul. A. Mickiewicza 2 The Artists have participated in one-month residency at the Arsenal Gallery in Bialystok, during which they have examined the uniqueness of Białowieża Forest in both political and natural resources context. During the meeting they will talk about their artistic output to date and the results of their activity as part of the residency.
Anna Jermolaewa and Scott Clifford Evans were selected in an open call as part of an Artist-in-Residence Exchange Programme “Central & East Europe Calling” co-organized by <rotor> center for contemporary art in Graz, Austria.

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1970. Living in Vienna, Austria since 1989.
Anna Jermolaewa is considered one of Austria’s most outstanding contemporary artists. She works mainly with photography, video and installation. In her works, she analyses functional structures of society, as well as social relations in everyday life. She focuses on the basic conditions and limits of human existence.
Since 2018 Professor for Experimental Design at University of Art and Design Linz, Austria.

Scott Clifford Evans (b.1979) is an artist, writer, and performer from Utah, USA who currently lives and works in Vienna. His most recent video, 20 out of 19,733 Killing Fields (2017), is a documentation of twenty “killing fields” in Cambodia left by the Khmer Rouge regime. His video Manipulating Currency (2016) premiered at the One Work Gallery in Vienna and has shown in exhibitions in London, Berlin, and Graz.
In 2019, Evans participated as script consultant and actor in the collaboration of Liam Gillick and Gelatin for the Kunsthalle Wien exhibition/film Stinking Dawn. He also starred in Christian Kosmas Mayer’s video Memory Palace (2016) and performed with Gelatin in Karaoke Machine at the 2016 Donaufestival in Krems, Austria. In addition, he assists Anna Jermolaewa on many of her video and documentary projects, including: The Pit (2019), Ecce Multitudo (2017), Political Extras (2015), and LENINOPAD (2015).
Evans recently co-taught a workshop on mudwrestling, Schlammgrübe 3000, at Impulstanz in Vienna and is currently filming his first feature, trash-horror installation/film project, Murderkino.
