Around the Turn to the Earth in Polish Contemporary Art – lecture with guided tour by Ewa Tatar

Around the Turn to the Earth in Polish Contemporary Art –
lecture with guided tour by Ewa Tatar
22.07.2023 (Saturday), 12 noon
Arsenal Gallery power station, 13 Elektryczna St. (entrance from Swietojanska St.), Bialystok
admission free
During the guided tour, Ewa Tatar will consider what a return to the land and a turn to nature in Polish art might be; what is ethnos; what does working with one’s hands in the field have to do with climate change? How to understand permaculture in the context of art? Where rural artists are led by decolonization paths around the class resentments of contemporary and ancient Poland? She will also try, together with the audience, to feel the rhythm of change in contemporary narratives refreshing the memory of non-urban areas.
Ewa Tatar – art researcher and exhibition curator, once co-creator of the Arsenal Gallery in Białystok program. Permaculture practitioner, amateur phytotherapist, curator of social situations in Libraries Without Borders, human rights activist, resident of Podlasie forest.
The event accompanies the exhibition „Duby smalone”.
