Recalling selected facts from the history of electricity, Katarzyna Czeczot asks the question of how it might have turned out if it had played out outside capitalism, and electricity itself had remained above all what it was in the beginning – a fascinating force of nature, resisting attempts at commodification.
Katarzyna Czeczot – a cultural studies scholar, professor at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and author of the book Ofelizm. Romantyczne zawłaszczenia, feministyczne interwencje [Ophelism. Romantic Appropriations, Feminist Interventions] (2016). She lives in the Białowieża Forest.
The event accompanies the exhibition „Duby smalone”.
