„ARGUMENTS IN CONTEMPORARY AESTHETICS"

We will host thesixth lecture as a part of a series of meetings held by Dr. Józef Chwala, a philosopher from the Department of Ontology and Epistemology of the Institute of Sociology at the University of Bialystok, aimed at students of philosophy and all those interested.

We will continue with analysis on the Orthodox roots of the artistic activity of, among others, Paweł Aleksandrovich Florensky, who is nowadays compared to Leonardo da Vinci. Nykolay Lossky spoke of the “superhuman erudition” of father Pawel, while Vasily Rozanov called him “a noumenon”. We will also become familiar with the artistic output of Gregory Krug, who referred to the best traditions of icon painting in Russia. “La Croix” of June 1969 called him “the last modern painter of icons”. Elsewhere he was expected to follow the paths of Andrey Rublev.
