The main "ingredient" of the workshop will be felt – an unusual material – modern on the one hand, and so much relating to nature on the other. So far, felt has been generally used as an industrial application including, the production of hats, shoes, all kinds of gaskets or insulating coverings. It shows us completely new image now, is a great material to create interesting forms of interior design, bags, all kinds of jewelery and many others. There is philosophy behind this stating that regardless of its prior use, any material in our hands can become what we want. Something new, breaking the previous standards.
Karolina Maksimowicz, born in Bialystok in 1984. Studied at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Białystok University of Technology. A designer, musician and performer. She designs interior spaces, furniture, lamps, everyday objects under a perverse name Przetwórnia Meblowa Białystok (Furniture Processing Plant Bialystok) within the area of recycling and restoration using traditional production methods. She also produces clothing, bags, fashion accessories under the name LOLBAG. As KONKUBINAT.org she designs and executes scenery. Karolina is the author and designer of the scenery and arrangement of Białystok Original Source Up To Date Festival. She is also a co-creator of commercials and a designer/executor of props used in their production for the same festival. She carries out workshops of interior design and creation of handbags and other accessories made of felt.
Karolina is not afraid to use the saw or compressor or even get her hands dirty with paint. She produces all of the products herself using traditional workshop hand techniques, as well as technological innovations. She uses woodworking tools perfectly, very often making an individual male feel embarrassed.
